Kazakhstan to host international peacekeeping training “Steppe Eagle” in 2015

Kazakhstan will host the international special tactical peacekeeping training exercise “Steppe Eagle” in 2015, Kazakh Defense Ministry said.

The Steppe Eagle exercises first were held in 2003, and in 2014 they were held for the 12-th time. Kazakhstan, along with Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, the United States, Germany and the UK have participated there. This year, the exercises were held outside of Kazakhstan for the first time, in Germany.

About 150 Kazakh troops participated in the exercises.

The closing ceremony of the peacekeeping exercise “Steppe Eagle 2014″ was organized in the US Armed Forces joint multinational training center in Germany.

The concept of the “Steppe Eagle” has been fully implemented, the training activities and working out the peacekeeping procedures in practice have been successfully conducted, the report of the exercise management said.
